Karen Jones, owner and proprietor of Cafe 611, gives back to her community and inspires her staff to do the same. Jones was touched when she heard a patron’s child was diagnosed with cancer, so she decided to donate money to help with the medical costs. The spirit of benevolence also is apparent in the cafe’s staff. The restaurant donated $1,300 to the local American Red Cross chapter and provided more than 300 trained volunteers to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies. The company also served Thanksgiving dinner for 150 underprivileged community members.
