Steve O's is determined that underprivileged children have a special Christmas. It worked with Tri-County Community Action Agency to provide gifts and dinner for 30 families in 2006. The restaurant served turkey, ham, stuffing, green beans and mashed potatoes to nearly 100 people and bought stockings for each child. Regular customers adopted the families through an "Angel Tree" to provide gifts of toys and clothing. Staff decorated a tree with hats, mittens and scarves donated by customers, and a local bus driver played Santa. Steve O's also supports a Special Olympics banquet with food donations; Taste of Oldham, which funds a drug rehabilitation center; the Humane Society; and retirement homes.
