(Washington, DC) Underscoring the restaurant industry's role as the cornerstone of career and employment opportunities, the National Restaurant Association announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Hcareers.com, North America's dominant online restaurant job board. Beginning in mid-May, job seekers can utilize the National Restaurant Association's "Restaurant Job Bank" on its Web site at www.restaurant.org/careers. The Restaurant Job Bank will be powered by Hcareers and capable of searching thousands of restaurant-industry job openings across the country by state, metro area, and/or position categories.

"The National Restaurant Association's new Restaurant Job Bank harnesses the combined power of Restaurant.org and Hcareers.com to give Association member restaurants a cost-effective way to reach literally hundreds of thousands of job-seekers who use the Internet to search for restaurant careers," said Steven C. Anderson, president and chief executive officer of the National Restaurant Association. "As the nation's largest private sector employer with 11.6 million restaurant-and-foodservice employees, this new Restaurant Job Bank at www.restaurant.org will be a tremendous asset to our industry."

"Hcareers.com is proud to provide the power behind the employment resources of the National Restaurant Association and its members," said David Curry, president and chief executive officer of Hcareers. "By creating a one-stop shop on the Internet for career and job opportunities within the restaurant industry, we have also created an incredible opportunity for many of the Association's members. Our partnership provides a cost-effective, responsive and flexible solution to filling jobs, one of the most important challenges of the restaurant industry today."

According to Association research, restaurant operators identified recruiting and retaining employees as their biggest challenge. Further research reveals that more than one out of five restaurateurs, or 22 percent, have used the Internet to recruit employees; that percentage is expected to increase exponentially in coming years. Restaurant.org's Restaurant Job Bank represents a new opportunity for the Association to address some of its members' key concerns.

Launched in 1998, Hcareers operates three sites, Hcareers.com (U.S.), Hcareers.ca (Canada) and Hcareers.co.uk (United Kingdom, Ireland), which all focus solely on hospitality career openings. Job-seekers who visit Hcareers can search a database of 7,000+ hospitality-industry job openings. Hcareers localizes its listings to make it easy for site visitors to search for positions by region of the U.S., by state, or by metropolitan area. A dominant force in hospitality-industry recruiting, the site attracts 2.1 million job-seeker visits each month, and has had 32,000 resumes posted by job-seekers in the last 90 days. Hcareers also sends out a bi-monthly e-mail newsletter to more than 200,000 people interested in news and advice on hospitality-industry careers.
