Avian influenza, also known as avian flu, is a global issue. Government, health and industry officials are working to eradicate the virus in birds around the world, prevent future outbreaks and prepare for a possible human pandemic.

While experts believe there is very little risk for the disease spreading to animals or people here in the United States, the National Restaurant Association continues to make food safety and restaurant preparedness among our top priorities.

We are supporting U.S. federal and state agencies, who are working to prevent and eradicate avian flu around the world.
